Hardee's Padma Lakshmi Commercial

The sexy star of Bravo's "Top Chef" Padma Lakshmi,is a hit in the steamy new ad for the Hardee's Western Bacon Thickburger commercial.

Padma Lakshmi plays a sultry role in new ad for Hardee's, the ad was created by L.A.-based advertising agency, Mendelsohn|Zien, also the masterminds behind many Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s campaigns including the terrific Paris Hilton ad “That’s Hot,” from 2005.
Born in Kerala, India, Padma has modelled for top designers such as Emanuel Ungaro, Ralph Lauren, and Alberta Ferretti and done ad campaigns for Roberto Cavalli and Versus.

This is just my opinion as a woman. I am an American, a woman, a Jew. If I were another Muslim or Hindu woman and I saw that commercial with Ms Lakshmi traipsing down the street looking like a whore; sitting with her legs wide opened and gorging down a bacon burger; I would throw up. I almost did. This is so disgusting that I would wonder what her family and friends back in India would make of this. This girl is gorgeous and someone should make movies or commercials that use her beauty and not debase those things that people in India treasure as sacred. This is wrong on so many levels. Try again!

I'm not a woman but I would agree with you on a few points as far as the model trampsing down the street and her legs being open. I wouldn't go as far as calling her a whore (I think that's going overboard). Bottom line is women are looked at as sex objects and have been and will continue to be, as long as people 'women included' make money their God. There are women on these advertising teams and are willing to sell other women out for money just the same as they reinforce racist stereotypes even though there aren't as many diverse people on these teams. At the same time the ones that are on them are too concerned with money to make a difference. Women (people) will always be willing to sell themselfs for money until they can no longer benefit from it or it hurts someone they love that is innocent.
