The CaraMilk Secret Revealed Through Modern Dance

New Cadbury CaraMilk commercial titled "Modern Dance" reveals the secret of just how they get the caramel in the caramilk bar. I have to admit when this first showed up in my inbox I was excited to view it since it was created by the great Saatchi & Saatchi ad agency and with my first view of the spot I was left with a strange feeling but you really do have to give it a second view to appreciate why Saatchi & Saatchi and the director Ulf Johansson are brilliant at creating great adverts.

Good ad, the choc bar even better but what is the music, PLEASE ?

Muskokamees June 15, 2009 5:51 AM

Roger, the song is called Cachapaya which is a folk peruvian andean song. The version in the commercial is by the The Swingle Singers.

My thanks, Muskokamees for the info and particularly for the artistes too. I have been racking my brain, and music collection since first seeing the ad.

The tune Cachapaya is by a British-South American band called Incantation - this particular piece did well in the British charts when it was released in the mid '80's. They produced several albums - a great sound!

I was wondering where did the song originated from because it sounds like a Peruvian Andian Song?!?

Very creepy. Is this supposed to persuade people to buy their chocolate bar? I hate this commercial.

This may shred some light on the campaign. http://mktgcliks.blogspot.com/2009/07/caramilk-secret-still-wondering.html

We're big fans of the caramilk bar but this ad for some reason annoys the hell out of us. Since this ad came out, we've stopped buying these just so we don't have the mental images of this ad.

This humouristic ads shows normal average people (not anorexic dancers) perfoming as average beeings (not as professional dancers) on a mouth made music... This is simple, first level humour. Don't take it seriously. Tey are not selling a religion here. The ad simply says: stop working on the secret (or wahtever you do); everybody can relax, sing or dance; ...and enjoy the great-smooth-sweet taste of a Caramilk. It also says, you don't need to be a genious, an expert, a top performer, or be shaped like a godess... to be happy and enjoy a Caramilk.
Among all caramilk ads, it's the one I prefer. I zap most publicity. But I usually watch this one. Sometime twice. I love the dancers.
