Mr. Sub Surprise Not Everyone Likes Surprises Funny New Commercial Campaign

New commercials for my favorite sandwich shop Mr. Sub, Surprise. The "Not Everyone Likes Surprises" campaign is a collection of three funny commercials featuring a groom who finds his father making out with his bride-to-be; a leather-clad husband trying to spice up his marriage only to shock his wife who happens to be wielding a cast iron pan; and a father of eight who decides to announce his change in sexual preference during an intimate family dinner.
Gary Watson, Co-Creative Director of BOS Toronto the ad agency behind these great spots comments: "I’ve been eating at Mr. Sub since I was a teenager and an assorted sub tastes as good today as it did decades ago. The insight for this campaign about "no surprises" comes right out of the product itself,". Chad Borlase, Co-Creative Director added, "To set up this positioning, we chose to show situations where surprises weren’t so welcome. And of course, using humour was a natural."
Great work gentlemen, you got me craving an Assorted Sub now too!

Are you serious? These ads are disgusting and in poor taste.

I think these are the funniest commercials I've seen. Poor taste??? Whats wrong with having a sense of humour? Awesome Mr.Sub!

Whether the ads are good or bad (I think the are good) isn't the issue here. Mr sub was fine with the creative when they approved it. The fact that they caved to a interest group is pathetic. Sorry BOS, good work goes unrewarded

Sweet,

I agree with you 100%.
I just loved these spots, they are fantastic and personally don't think any group should have felt offended by them.
I'm with Sweet on this too, BOS deserves credit for doing great work on this campaign!!!

Okay. Finally MR.SUB hires an agency that actually gave them a little identity to stand out amongst Subway and the blew it because someone panic'd and fired BOS.....how stupid! The ads were brilliant and funny as hell.

The commercial where the son discovers the father kissing his bride-to-be is offensive to the family, demonstrates very low IQ, is demeaning to marriage. The adertising agent that stooped to such low moral level should be dismissed and someone hired with a little more than sawdust between the ears! It does NOT promote positive lifestyle which Mr. Sub
has always stood for.

wow....Mr. Sub stands for a positive lifestyle....have you been to a local "Franchised" Mr. Sub shop lately....

funny? a sense of humor? What is so funny about that? Why not have a pediphile on the commercial. Would that be funny too?
People really have a sick sense of humor these days!
