UPDATE: October 30, 2009
In Canada, our talent union will be demanding payment for those actors, since the spot was never intended for the internet. The ad agency and the client cannot afford these talent payments.I guess we have no choice but to remove it, as I'm sure there may be some legal issues and who needs that nonsense. Only in Canada....eh! The Great-Ads Team is going to enjoy the Friday afternoon at our local watering hole and guess what we will be having....that's right, an ice cold Labatt Blue, actually forget the Blue and give us a nice cold import instead...Heineken please!
If we could afford them, we would have our own internet media placement.
What can you do immediately to take the spot off your site? It is somewhat flattering that someone somewhere feels this is a great ad, but again, the talent in the spot will deserve additional fees if it remains on your site.

There are no credits for the spot, they don't want us to see it.

Hey there Sylvia,
That will teach you for trying to promote Canadian work. I gave up dealing with Canadian agencies period.
Can you "Actra"
Can you Actra?
Did you mean - Can you say Actra,
Whatever, this is typical of how Canadians do things period.
Sylvia, is this your first experience with situations like this or are you like our firm who regularly are threatened about content on your site?
If you have we can help, I'll send you a private message about us and our experience.
They want more money just because the commercial was posted on your site??!!!
Are you kidding me, this can't be for real...tell me this is a joke.
Someone should tell the agency we are in the year 2009, and they had better get into internet media placement....uuhhh hello...anybody home.
Talent payments??? Molson and whatever agency was behind this can't afford talent payments??
Somewhat flattering??? Sylvia you my dear are surprisingly relaxed with the response you posted.
Do they ever consider the fact that most TV watchers don't even watch the commercials anymore, at least those who come to your site and others like it are coming because they WANT TO SEE THE COMMERCIALS...wow, this really blows my mind.
I'm an actor in that Molson Canadian 67 commercial. I've put 14 years of time, energy, money and soul into my acting career. I'm not even close to recouping all the money I've spent on classes, photos, promotional materials, travel, etc and I've had to live with the uncertainty and instability of this profession the entire time. When I do book work, I want to get paid fully. In this case, ACTRA protects me. It has laboured long and hard to ensure ad producers pay fair wages to its performers, and that includes paying separate fees for internet use of ads. The request to remove the ad is legally and morally sound and I, for one, appreciate it. Finally, the naivete and kneejerk reactions of the other posts are the much bigger problem in this country and the world in general. I would ask each author to spend time researching what ACTRA does and how advertising works before they post clearly ignorant and irrational opinions.

To the anonymous actor who posted above.....14 years and you haven't made any money????
Don't you think it's time to find a new career?
Actra maybe protecting you but they sure as heck are not helping you make any money. A little free promotion on the internet just might be what your acting career needs!!
Personally I think websites like this that promote and showcase advertising campaigns, and those actors, do more good for your career than any financial gain you think you maybe missing out on.
Melissa,
I repeat:
I would ask each author to spend time researching what ACTRA does and how advertising works before they post clearly ignorant and irrational opinions. Clearly you have not done so.
You write "14 years and you haven't made any money????" Please read my original post and note that I do not say that. Your comment certainly sounds great in your argument, but it's not what I stated -- it's this kind of erroneous claim-making that makes forums such as these nearly pointless.
You also write "do more good for your career than any financial gain you think you maybe (sic) missing out on." First of all, I know exactly the financial gain I'm missing out on when my ad is placed on the internet when it shouldn't be. I know precisely the fees I should be receiving when my ad is on the internet, because ACTRA provides that specific information to its members.
As for my career, I have made money. I suspect you're quite curious how much I made on the ad, but I'll just let you imagine. I'm comparing 14 years of costs to the money I've made in only the last 5 years -- those 5 years being my time as a professional, ACTRA actor. Unfortunately for actors, most of us spend many years working for free in independent film and theatre before we begin to make money. Ask me again in 5 years.
Websites like this DO promote and showcase advertising campaigns -- I agree. However, I suspect you show up to wherever you work each day and expect to get paid. So do I, and thankfully ACTRA ensures that. Unless this website is willing to pay for the usage of my work, it has a duty to not use it.
P.S. I'm not anonymous. I wrote Trevor K. at the end of my post. Too busy making incorrect inferences, I suppose. Your reply clearly shows you're not interested in a considered reading of my post -- just in writing another kneejerk, reactionary response that doesn't contribute to the debate.

You wrote "However, I suspect you show up to wherever you work each day and expect to get paid." Of course we do, but do I expect to get paid over and over again for the same day's work? No I don't. Without the internet, ad's like this from Molson (not your ad as you claim) would have their short run and be forgotten about. This is advertising, and I'm quite sure about this, Molson would like as many people as possible to see this. The problem in this country is not the other posts, it's people like yourself who expect to get paid for a service which has already been paid for.
Talent payments, ha, that's just ridiculous.
