Bumbling Burglar Get's His 2 Minutes Of Fame In A Pastrami Ad
Kent's Deli used actual footage from an attempted robbery at it's store to create this new ad and set to the outrageous Benny Hill theme song, which emphasizes its hilarity. The voice over says "Some people will do just about anything to get more"...unless you are just some drunken bumbling burglar and any store will do really.
This video of a bumbling burglar trying to rob the Kent's Meats and Groceries store on Airport Road was so popular in the last week of March that it was featured on Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tosh.0, and many other shows. We tried to turn lemons into lemonade with this new promotion of Kent's delicious award-winning New York Style Pastrami.
Brands using actual footage of robberies in their advertising is nothing new...
On december 6th, a Reserva store in São Paulo was robbed. Before that, it was beautiful and ready for christmas. And our amazing team cleaned it up, got it done and opened it the same day (without the store window) and hit the sales goal at 4pm. DO instead of COMPLAIN. That's why we decided to inspire ourselves in this fact and use our sale video as an example that rather than suck a lemon is much better to make a good lemonade with it."
